| Re: *** looking for bitch **** As one actively involved in rescue, I appreciate the fact you're here, asking questions before you bred your dog. Wearing my rescue hat, I assure you we do not need anymore untitled, unproved, unknown dogs without health clearances being bred. I wish the person who bred the 16 mo old male frisking around in our pen, the latest addition to my rescue program, had come here first.
The reality is you have a nice pet. Neuter him and leave it at that. Those friends of your who think they want Rottie puppies--what do they actually know about the breed? How much research have they done? Why do they want a Rottie? Do they know some insurance companies will not insure the homes of people who have this breed? Instead of breeding your dog, it would be far better for you to suggest to those friends of yours who think they want a Rottie to come here and start reading, to get in touch with their local rescue group, to go to dog shows, and to start talking to Rottie breeders. |
