Just needed to write this down. Dallas, my 8 yr old female and my very first dog went to the Bridge today at 10:10 am. She was diagnosed with bone cancer not a month ago and it spread so fast that she had little time. She couldn't get up & down the steps not only limping on the leg with the bone cancer but now was limping on a hind leg as well. It was the hardest thing ever that I had to decide. The vet said that she could put her on a morphine patch so she could have a couple more days to a week, since her leg would break at anytime. I decided against that because for me, I just didn't want to have Dallas' last days hopped up on morphine. I wanted to remember her valiant spirit.

To My Love Dallas,
Thank you, my strong girl, for giving me the precious gift of you for eight wonderful memorable years. Thank you for always protecting me, thank you for all the hearty laughs, for being so damn smart at everything we learned together and most of all for filling my heart with such love & pride. I will miss you, my precious Guardian Angel. Take care of business up there Dally, and wait for me til we see each other again.
