I carry pepper spray when I walk Legend. I've heard some people say that it doesn't work the same on dogs...and I hope I never have to use it - but I figure if a dog approaches us aggressively, I'd rather have a shot at stunning it with pepper spray and getting away then trying to beat it with a cane (as I see many folks around here carry for that reason). So far, so good...since I started carrying it, I haven't been approached by an aggressive stray dog, but just in case, I continue to carry it.
