Parvo is a very determined virus and hangs around places for a long time. Black and tan dogs have a higher risk of getting the virus. We actually had 3 sets of injections the last one being at 12 weeks. There seems to be different standards all over the world in regards to this. We were extremley careful where we took the boy while he was in this period. Socialization was kept to healthy vacinated dogs we knew to be virus free. If you were to take pup out on a leash take him to a place where no dogs have been like a isolated sports feild or the likes. Remember though that parvo can be transmitted by bird poo too. So inspect the area you will be in. |
