I took Alex for a Herd Instinct Test when he was around 3 years old, so this was about 5 years ago. At that time, it consisted of having your dog on leash, in a small pen with about 6-8 sheep. It was basically to see his reaction. You were given a rake to hold and if your dog got to aggressive with the sheep, you were to place the rake in front of him to back him off.
