Re: Attorney General Bryant: Conference

TrishB, I did not say pit bulls were evil. I know the breed well. I do not own them because they are a responsibility that I do not want to take on. I don't think Omen is evil. I think the form of "play" is dangerous and should be discouraged. To own a pit bull is fine. I had a friend here this morning with her pit and he played with my min pin :-) but that biting under the arm and the throwing of the rump to decoy the dog being attacked is an inbreed form of attack and is dangerous. I have a long and deep understanding of this particular breed and Omen is doing exactly what she/he was bred to do.

My Point Is that "It is dangerous."

I have seen many dogs hurt badly by pit bulls in this way. That form of play is "an Omen" of bad news down the road. If you don't agree I'm sorry but again I have long expericence with the breed and in my humble opinion that form of "play" is dangerous and I would discourage it completely.

By the way my dog never snapped she did fine and I kept in touch with her for 11 years after I gave her to a childless home. She had a long and happy life. I was unwilling to take any chances with my new born baby when she growled and found her a proper home where she would not be around children.

Attacking my dog sense is very easy for you to do and is fine with me but for the record my "Candy" never snapped but I was unwilling to take a chance that she might. I never owned one after that because I was busy raising my kids. But I did help place other people's. So if my writing was such that you didn't understand that then I apologize.

But I do know this breed and I know it well. They are not for novices was my only point.

And as you said they all have drives. The arm pit biting and throwing the rump should be discouraged! Just like the Rottweiler should be discourage from pushing you out of the way and exiting a door first. That advice listed right here on this site.

These are warning signs or "omens" if you wish, of trouble to come. Why can't you accept what I said as a warning? Something to be watched for everyone's own good? Is it that big a deal? Rest assured I didn't have to say a word and probably won't again because of this kind of reaction.
