A Poem to Share

This is a poem that was written by:Senator Gerorge Vest in 1870.

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this unselfish world,the one that never deserts him,the one that never proves ungreatful or treacherous,is his dog.
A man's dog stand's by him in prosperity and in proverty,in health and in sickness.
He will sleep on the ground,where the wintery winds blow and the snow drives fiercely,if only he may be near his master's side.
He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer,he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world.
He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he was a prince.
When all other friends desert,he remains.
When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces,he is constant in his love as the sun in its journey thru the heaven's.

I have had this poem now for about 13 years I carry it in my wallet,to me it sums up our Rottweilers.

To all of you that have lost a special friend my heart and prayers go to you.

Love;
Kevin & Christy & Commander
