We're not assuming anything. You posted that your dog was lunging and/or growling when she wanted to go 'meet' someone....based on that information you gave in another thread, I posted a reply.
Isolated incidents are rarely isolated....if you don't get that issue under control, it will happen again.
Obedience classes will work wonders for your relationship with your dog.
If you are already running with her, and you know she might tug when someone approaches or passes you, get, and keep, her attention using a toy (tennis ball, small tug type rope toy) or treats. Talk to her as well while you are out running - a simple 'good girl' if she is behaving herself or a little whistle to get her attention will help remind her that she has to pay attention to you.
My boy Baron is a nutjob if he doesn't get either a 15-10 minute romp in the yard or a nice long 30-45 minute walk - I do both now that I am not working. Morning is zoomie around the yard time, late afternoon I leash him up and off we go for a nice long, fast paced walk...no stopping to pee, no sniffing...this is business walking...burn energy. The pace is too fast for him to do anything but watch where he is going and keep an eye on me...we slow it down for the last 15 minutes or so and he is allowed to check things out as we cool down.
