When you find someone coming straight on and your dog is not equipped to deal with it, simply turn and walk away. You don't have to remain static. You dog will be looking over his shoulder, but so what? A left turn is usually best as it allows you to use your body to turn your dog instead of dragging on the lead. Step forward with your right leg crossing in front of your dog's head and just keep going.
