| This topic comes up every now and then by different posters....pedigree is a food that most people here on the board don't feed. In general, you want to look for a food that doesn't list corn as an ingredient...and I believe pedigree lists it as the first ingredient. Many people here feed Canidae, Wellness, Chicken Soup for the dog lover's soul, Innova...lots of different brands. You can use the search feature to check out what people here feed.
As far as feeding amounts and weight....just feed enough so that the dog has a defined waist when looked at from above and a nice tuck from the side, it's ribs should be easily felt but not noticable when looking at it. 3 cups dry and 2 cans a day sounds like a lot of food to me, but the more filler a food has (corn) the more you have to feed. My 90# male eats between 2.75 cups and 3.5 cups dry a day, with occasional treats. |
