Max is at the bridge

I got a call on Saturday from my Mom telling me that they were taking Max, our orange Tabby cat, to the vet this week to be PTS. Max was 18 years old and his old body just wasn't working as well as it used to. He had a failing liver and we think a thyroid problem, as he lost weight very quickly and was always drinking water. According to my Mom he has also been falling over a lot lately and was having difficulty walking and she feared him taking a tumble down the stairs

We got Max as a baby from a friend of mine whose barn cat had had kittens. Surprisingly Max was the runt of the litter but he grew to be a large, robust 20 lb cat by the time he was full grown. He was a very laid back cat and had a meow like a Siamese cat, he particularly liked to use his "voice" at 3am while walking around the house . Max loved to go for walks too, he would follow my Mom and Dad around the subdivision when they took their nightly walks. He and Mischief were life long buds/co-horts. Now it's just Mischief (20yr/old brown w/black tiger stripes Tabby).

RIP Max, you will be greatly missed. Say hello to Misha for me.

Jaime
