Depends on the dog. Sable's ears remained proportionately the same all thru out puppyhood to adult. Rave's ears were another story! There was a time we joked with her breeder about that "black and tan coonhound" she must have hanging around.
Her ears were huge in comparison to her head for a while. Then her head caught up and she's fine.
So maybe your pup is like Rave and the ears growth has gotten away with themselves for a while?
If not, having big ears isn't the end of the world. The ear set is more important.
