I have just acquired a new dog and I am trying to get used to him. His name is, Boston. He is the most hyper dog I have ever met, owned, and saw. I believe that might be the understatement on the century. He has so much energy, I don't know how am I going to keep up. It is only the third day and everyday it seems like I am getting more and more tired. Is the hard part over, or will he only get worse? I know I sound like I am complaining, but I just want some help and I am new to this web site and rottie ownership thing. I don't have money for a trainer so with that in mind, I won't be able to use that route. He has next to no manners. He doesn't bite or scratch though on purpose. He jumps on everyone who tries to come in contact with him, and I would like to stop that. I read a the articles by Mick trainer (at least I think that is his name) on "Dominance" and I can say that his post was very helpful. When I try to put a lead line or leash on him, he thinks that the lead or leash is a toy and he tries to bite and pull on it. It takes him a while to respond to my commands like "sit" and "come," but when he does do the command, I praise him for them. Please help. I am open to constructive critism as well. Thank you and Go Red Sox!!!
