I think there are things that "tropical" dogs are more prone to, but I can't remember specifically what. One of my puppies is down in Arkansas (very souther part), and his owner was telling me the higher risk of a few things. Unfortunately, she died of ovarian cancer and I can't seem to get in touch with the husband any more.
So I really can't tell you more than that.
