I'm not sure I understand the question. Even pups I keep are chipped for both security and identification (per AKC breeder rules) purposes
ALL pups I place are chipped and the chips remain registered to me so that if the dog is lost I will be called and be able to contact the owner and I will know that the dog was loose and picked up. It is also a positive way to id a dog in the event I get back a dog I placed as a pup, I can thus prove it is in fact the actual dog I placed and not a look alike
