all my dogs are chipped.i use AVID.
i just read an article that is best after 3 months of age,
so the scapula area muscle is more developed,and less chances
of migrating.
in some areas it's mandatory to chip pets before selling.
and for ofa xrays,a microchip is considered a permanent id,
for ofa submission.
and of course, if someone takes your dog, you have a form of id on your dog.
it is a very good idea.
