| A good "rule of thumb" is 10 pounds per month up to about 80 pounds. Regardless of when pups reach 80 pounds, they tend to seriously slow their growth about this time and don't put on their final 10 pounds or so until around age 2-3 years.
Remember that some pups will be slighly heavier than the 10 pounds/month, and some will be lighter. Rather than worrying about the scale, check to make sure your puppy is lean, but not skinny, and muscular. If this is true, then your puppy is the perfect weight.
Remember that bigger isn't better, and certainly NOT in puppies! Slow growth is better for your puppy's bones and muscles. |
