Ok, now that I've stopped crying, I can tell you what we did. Our vet came to our home when it was time for Old Man Luke to go. Sashka lied beside him the whole time. When we removed his body she stayed in that spot all night. I'm not sure that I would do that again.
All of her previous behaviours came back. She barked all day when left alone, she soiled in the house, she couldn't stand to be away from me at all.
When Chewie came to us, she of course hated him and refused to let him near any of Lukes toys. After a couple of weeks it was like she was herself again. Again, I'm not sure I would have the dog in the room, but thats just me. |
