| reif, may i ask why you are so intent on restoring kimbertal's reputation? i understand that you may have kimbertal dogs, and you would like to feel that you made a sound choice. honestly, though, people here aren't here to discredit kimbertal for fun. they do have a terrible reputation, one that is not undeserved.
i have firsthand kimbertal experience. my breeder got a bitch from kimbertal as their first dog, "before they knew better". they would not ever get another one, and would not participate in their breeding program.
i could say more, but have a feeling it's not "allowed" on the forum, as it may be considered slanderous. i'll stop there. do you know anyone who has successfully challenged their contract and has emerged victorious?
however, saying that an article doesn't matter because it's five years old is ridiculous. it's fact, just because its not current doesn't make it irrelevant. five years is one or two generations ago. that matters.
there are decent dogs, or even the occassional good dog, that come out of kimbertal. but that is not the norm. breeding a dog without OFA-ing them is irresponsible, plain and simple.
