Believe me I didn't go into this blindly. I looked at over a dozen breeders litters and the breeder themselves. It took me a year before I decided on this breeder. She was also recommended a reputable breeder. I know I saw the certification on my pups father but not the mother. My husband just informed me that the breeder did show him both hip certifications. I must have been caught up in the moment of finally finding a pup because I was getting discouraged. This is not my first Rottie and it will most likely not be my last. I learned from my husbands problems with his first girl that buying from an AKC pet store doesn't come close to a guarantee of a healthy pup. We still have his first female but she is what we call the walking wounded. Or as my surgeon described her "an orthopedic mess". We love her just the same. Three major surgeries later and all. Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear that I would never go into getting a Rottie Blindly. It is one of the reasons I didn't rescue I couldn't afford another mishap.
