Last week I had to put my 10 1/2 year old female to sleep due to very bad HD. I miss Douska very much. I know she is out of pain now and hopfully, she's still looking over me. I will never be able to replace her, but I feel empty without her. So, I have begun my search for a new female pup. I have called several breeders and have received information packets from them. I have a few question about the pedigrees on the dogs , They appear to have some very excellent dogs in the lines. Of a total of a 126 dogs only 21 do not have some type of title . The sire of the litter is Jenecks Quinn II he is a Jenecks Wontan son and his dam is Jenecks Bessy. The dam of the litter is Sonja VH Falconsnest her sire is Graf VD Teufelsbrucke and her dam is Dina VD Schwarzen Heide. It is indicated in the info I recieved that Quinn is 11% line bred on some of the best known and producing Rottweilers of all time, Nero Vom Schloss Rietheim and Ives Eulenspiegal. Since I have very little or no experience in reading pedigrees or breeding, I would like to know what 11% line bred means.
I have read several books on purchasing a pup, and they indicate that you should make a list of conformation titles,working titles and a bunch of other things. With these pedigrees it appears to me that their are plently of titles on both sides. I feel that temperment is the most important but if all this dogs have the titles they would have the temperment also, correct ? . What do I need to look at next? Thanks!!
