From day 1 of getting Stan he has responded better to me than anyone else, but i am the one who provides in his eyes everything for him including walks
. I think that the dog does realise who he/she gets more attention/affection/correct discipline from and hence giving more back to that person. In my situation Stan when asked by his dad to come to him at home for a cuddle/stroke will instantly look at me and try to get to me. This is when i have to say no and let the interaction between him and his dad happen. I spend most valuble time with him, so when dad is around i do try to take a back seat
