I've had two rotties now, I was involved with my ex when we got our first pup. However, he bonded more with my ex than me. Even though I spent alot of time with him as well, that was "his" dog.

They say that rottweilers are one-owner dogs. I've seen that in my dealings with my current rottie girl. I was married when I got her, and now we've been by ourselves over a year. But I got her and took responsibility for her, we do everything together and have bonded. When my ex lived with us, she liked "daddy", etc, but I was the one she would wait for at the end of the day, you could tell the difference. I think its all about feeding, caring for them and training. The person who they spend the most time with and establish that owner/dog bond they will be with. That doesn't mean they don't love the other family members, but they look to that person as the leader.
