Have him be the one to walk her, feed her and play with her for a bit. This should strenghten their relationship. I've found most of my dogs are the same way, we have 4 in the house and they all go wild when I get home from work AHHHHH MOMs HOME!!!!! but I am their main care giver and discipliarian. I'm sure if my husband worked them they would be just as excited to see him.
