| Re: Finding out hereditary information... What do you mean by "papers"? The term "papers" usually means registration papers, which contains the pedigree as well as registration information. If you know the breeder's name, by all means call them, although I do wonder what kind of breeder it is if the family you got the dog from didn't just return the dog to the breeder (Code of Ethics breeders should take any dog they breed back at any time for any reason, many state specifically in their contract that if the original owner cannot keep the dog, that the dog must be returned to the breeder rather than rehomed by the owner).
