Basic Information:
For the Dogs...
*No previous herding or obedience training necessary
*Testing is done in a safe environment (no long-lines, whips, fiberglass stock sticks or wooden crooks will be used), but those with soft feet can/may tear pads (something to consider if planning to show or trial in the near future)
*Upon evidence of herding instinct each participant will receive a Herding Instinct Certificate with his/her name on it
*Dogs need to wear snug-fitting collars (choke, fur-saver, pinch, leather/fabric buckle) that they can't slip out of easily
*No age minimum or maximum
*There is plenty of water and shade available for dogs as well as an off leash field to run in (for well socialized dogs...dog aggressive dogs are not welcome in the field)
For the humans...
*No age minimum or maximum (the testers do the work anyway :-)
*Don't wear flip-flops, open toed shoes or sandals
*There are covered areas, but please dress for the weather (i.e. bring warm clothes, rain gear, etc)
*There is a soda machine available on site
