[New2Rotties]

Hello everyone, I hesitated joining yet because unfortunately my new baby boy was only born on 2/1/01 so I am not yet in possession of him. However, I am so excited to learn as much as I can about the breed, I decided to join now. He will be my first Rottie and I just cannot wait. I've already purchased his crate, collar, "bite" toys and tennis balls and scheduled him for his first obedience training class.

I write to you because I would like to know your experiences with training your Rotties and what technics seemed to work and what technics did not. I feel like Rotties are a special breed and should be treated as such. I have also been told that certain training that may work on one dog may not work on a Rottie. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any ideas for what else I may need when he finally comes home, please let me know.
