| Re: Passport for dogs It is the countries that have always had such draconian quarantine laws that are now working with the passports. About time they caught up with science. The biggest concern has been rabies in countries that have always been rabies free. They don't want to import it and that is understandable.
The Americas have never had quarantine and thus no passports. It is however important that when traveling you carry your dog's rabies certificate and ownership papers should you be asked. Within the US, it is still important as different states have different laws. Should your dog be involved in any kind of bite incident, it will be placed in quarantine if you cannot prove rabies vaccination. |
