| Re: Rottie Shot and killed in its own yard It seems to me like a lot of people lately are using guns to solve their animal issues. I read on another forum about a man who shot a dalmation in his backyard. While that case is much different as the dog was in his yard, he claims to have been firing a warning shot. He fired off 5 shots. And the dog's owner was right there trying to get her dog, from my understanding.
Police officers are held to a higher standard then the average joe. We assume that because their job is to "protect and serve" they are not as easily rattled and are trained to use their weapon only as a last resort. To allow them to behave otherwise is to say that they can get their weapon out and use it anytime they want.
Kind of makes you wonder, if this guy's kid was being pummelled by the bully down the road, would he take his gun out and shoot the kid?
