Reno was a big grumbler and was pretty vocal. He grumbled when he was content, like when he was getting his belly rubbed or when he was being petted. His eyes would close and he would just grumble away with that silly rottie smile on his face. He had a different grumble for when he was made to do something he didn't want to do, sort of like a sassy teenager back talking. He also had an endearing way of telling us when he wanted something. He'd sit in our line of site and if we didn't notice him, he'd let out a howl like awwwroooorooorooo. We'd go through the list - outside, food, water, bed. When we'd hit the right thing, he'd dance around in circles. He was quite the character. He wasn't allowed to bark at us except during play. That would have been too bossy.

Max isn't a talker, but I think Luna may be one. When she is let out of her crate in the morning, she trots down the hallway whining all the way to the kitchen. It's pretty cute and always gives me a little chuckle.
