At Petco/Petsmart you can buy what look like sasuage rolls of dog food. I take these rolls and cut them up into about 1/4 inch squares for training treats, it smells like summer sausage and is a real attention getter for my Wookie. A roll costs about $4-5, I think, and the "treats" last me a month (refridgerated when not using) with only one dog...you can also get bigger rolls (I get the smallest ones) and I'm sure that they would be cheaper in the long run. I also just use kibble as a training treat for less than spectacular achievements.
