Akasha and Keil were tested today by the Delta Society to become Pet Partners.

Keil did GREAT and passed all his tests with flying colors. He tested with both my daughter and myself and passed both times. The only part of the test that he had even the slightest problem with was when he was being petted by the tester and I had to call him to me. He was enjoying the petting so much that I had to call him 2x. He loved all the attention and didn't mind anything they did to him. I am so proud of how well our boy did today:D

Akasha was a different story. Her testing was going great and she had passed everything until we came to the part where they picked up each of her feet. Akasha was not really impressed and kept trying to squirm away. She did not want her feet messed with and the rest of that portion of the test was spent with her trying to play keep away She also hesitated when it came time for her to walk up to the funny looking man with the walker. She did walk up to him and he was able to pet her without a problem but her hesitation caused her to fail that portion of the test.
The tester did tell me that she thought Akasha just needs to mature a little bit more and she will do just fine. They said that they would like to see us test again in a few months.:)

Several of the people helping commented on what good temperments both Akasha and Keil have :D They also said that they don't see alot of Rotties doing therapy work up here and that it was great to see us getting ours involved.

My daughter and I are going to go visit with the group without Keil at least once or twice so that we can get a feel for things before taking him along. We are going to take it slow, so we don't burn him out.


I think that being a pet partner is something that Keil will really enjoy doing. Hopefully his sister will be able to join him soon. My daughter is pretty happy that Keil finally beat his little sister at something;) :D
