I have to ask this. How much of that 5 1/2 months was spent recovering from the amputation? This is something I have always hesitated to ask, but seriously would like to know. If we are talking about quality of life and not just extension of life I am sure that others would like this information as well. Of course the dogs learn to get around, they have no choice, but if we are talking about months and months recovery from ACL surgery, what occurs with an amputation.
This is something I have never heard discussed and would be interested. We are always hesitant to ask such questions because one cannot go back and all make the best decisions possible at the time. With the sole consideration for the dog, would you do this again? |
