Im a new member to this group. A year ago i bought a puppy from a breeder here in florida (brooksville) paid $850 for my puppy and she was bought as breeding quality. Back then i was clueless about contracts and hip guarantee's. I assumed and the breeder said she came with one. Well now looking at the contract. My dog has no guarantee for anything. I took her in for her prelims and her xrays came back Fair to mild hip dysplasia ( per the vet) I called the breeder and he told me oh well. I got copies of the parents OFA papers but now when i try to look up the fathers OFa on the website hes not coming up as OFA'd. I think the breeder forged this paper, now i know the father is not OFA'd and is not with the breeder anymore due to what ive heard that he couldnt get his hips to pass. Im am outraged. A breeder thats been breeding 20 years and showing does this to me. I now have a dog that ive put a years worth of training and a few titles in that may come out with hip dysplasia when i take her in at 2 years old and the breeder doesnt care. He said if i wanted a dog with hip guarantee;s to pay him $2500 and he'd guarantee hips. that is outragous. Is there anything i can do here, please help someone!
