If scratching at the ears, it could be an infection - caused by a million things, completely unrelated to the vomiting! Do you have nylon or other artificial fiber carpeting in the house?? A friend of mine had a dog with incredibly rotten ear infections, treated him with yeast infection medication for women! She moved out of the place with the nylon carpets, into a place with hardwood floors and got cotton area rugs (secured to the floor with non slip rug mats and staples!) and the infetcions clere dup in a metter of weeks...
If nothing comes from the vomiting visit to the vet, you might end up with a prescription of Pepcid or Tagamet, and remember to ask how to clean the ears (and do it OUTSIDE so he can shake his head and you won't have to clean the walls afterwards!)!!!
