| Teething and Nipping Josie is 9 weeks old and in the past week has become a lot more nippy and bitey. I know this is just her teething, but sometimes it gets so bad I can't even walk around. She is either biting my feet/ankles or has attached herself to my shoelaces. I have accidentally stepped on her foot 3 times already. I tried putting bitter apple on my feet / shoes, even rubbing on a little pepper, but nothing seems to work. She is doing pretty well with crate training and paper training, but this is one area where she does not seem to get the message. At this point the word 'NO' means nothing to her (which my trainer told me is pretty normal considering her age). I don't want to crate her when she is in the bitey mood b/c I don't want the crate to be a punishment. A friend of mine recommended a water spray bottle to spritz her when she is chewing on me. Any advice??? |
