| A few years ago our lab developed adult-onset megaesophagus, and we had a nasty time trying to keep him fed. He would have required four cans of food daily. We learned about Abady High Maintenance and Stress, and used it with the canned for a period of time. It's granulated....it looks like potting soil. We mixed it with the canned in order for Jake to get the proper amount of nutrition and calories. For our purpose, it was great. I understand it's very popular in the north, where Robert Abady is a respected breeder. But I can't imagine feeding it under normal circumstances.
For those of you that study nutrition though, it's worth a few bucks to order a 5 lb. box. It's about the size of a large shoe box, and three sides are covered with a paste-on label, of which every single inch is covered by Mr. Abady's very wordy treatise on canine nutrition. Consider it an addition to your library. It makes for very interesting reading.;)
