| I'm currently fostering a Rottie boy that was still intact when we pulled him from AC. He's 5 yrs old. When we assessed him, he marked everything, and I do mean everything. We had him neutered within a couple of days of pulling him for that reason, and the fact that he exhibited a lot of dominance behavior. While I can't say that it was a cure all.....some of the change in his behavior has been due to people working with him....there is a marked (no pun intended!) difference. He's only marked once since I brought him into our home, (he was in a different foster home for about 4 wks prior to coming to mine, so it doesn't change immediately after the neuter) and now shows very little dominance behavior. If you're not showing/planning to show him, by all means, neuter him! It certainly won't hurt! |
