I agree with the caution. You just NEVER know.
My hypothesis is that the reason puppies have puppy breath is to let adults know with one sniff that they are babies.

My Rottie girls have helped raise and teach many little fosters and visitors with no problems whatsoever. I trust them. HOWEVER, there was one puppy that Bree would not tolerate AT ALL. I am still mystified by it but had I not had a handle on her the pup could have been hurt, scared to death at the very least.

Lesson: Don't ever presume to know what your dog will do in any given situation.
