Yep, kangaroo is quite popular.
It's quite a tough meat but has extremely low fat. It's the leanest red meat you can get as far as I'm aware.
It needs to be minced though and cooked rare as it is tough when cooked well done.

You can buy Roo mince for around $2-4 aussie dollars per 1 kilogram. Which works out to $1-2US per 2.2 lbs.

By the way, what are some of the brands of dog kibble to stay away from?
