Jory, it has nothing to do with "Pet vs. Show." It doesn't matter whether you have a show quality Rottweiler or a Pet quality Rottweiler, there ARE still standards that **should** be followed. Sadly, there are countless "breeders" out there whom are destroying our beloved breed. Why? Because they don't care about the breed standard. They don't care about the health issues that runs rapid in our beloved breed. And believe it or not, there are PLENTY of responsible ethicial breeders who do breed for the betterment of the breed. Who doesn't require you to put a second mortgage on your house. All it takes is a little dedication and investigation to find one. And if you can't afford their prices for a quality pet Rottie, then God know's, there are PLENTY in rescue all around the country in needing of quality loving homes. There is NO reason to buy from an irresponsible breeder in this day and age. All that does is hurt our breed and increase the BYB's supply and demand.

You call it "Pet vs. Show," I call it passion, love, and dedication in the preservation of the noble Rottweiler.
