| Asking for Suggestions When asking for suggestions, especially for training and behavior, it would be best if people would give the age, sex, and training background of the dog (and even themselves). Advice appropriate for a 10 week old puppy is different from that for an 8 month old and certainly different from that for a 2 or 4 year old! The more information provided, the better understanding respondents are of the situations. Nothing substitutes for "hands-on" and direct observation, and active training, but the more complete the background, the more appropriate the suggestions will be.
Often there will be several different suggestions any one of, or all of which might be helpful. Other times there will be strong concensus! Suggestions are offered with a true desire to help.
