There's still hope!

Well if I can do it anyone can do it:D. We have successfully done Czars nails WITHOUT and I repeat, WITHOUT a muzzle!! We are absolutely thrilled, you have no idea how we battled and struggled and dreaded doing nails. We went from 4 people to 3, then my husband and I all these times having to use a muzzle bc he would grab you and it wasen't a nice friendly grab either, which is why we had to go with the muzzle in ther first place. But the last couple of times we did nails he was exceptionally good, we'd put him in a down and he'd roll over on his own, no fighting, no holding him down, and no attempt to bite, so this time, today we wanted to do nails bc we do them EVERY 2 weeks now, with the expert advice of Judi W. So I said to my husband lets do them w/o a muzzle, he of course said "are you sure"? Low and behold we did them, NO muzzle, no grumbling, just a very well behaved good little boy:D, who afterwards got a very special treat, Oh and we cleaned ears w/o a muzzle too, something else we couldn't do before. I truly feel in my heart what I felt in the beginning that he acted like that out of fear, now that we have been doing it faithfully every 2 weeks he's become accustomed to it and has excepted it bc one way or another it was going to get done by US no one else, bc if we can't control our dogs how can we expect someone else to and he is well behaved at the vets and all this is part of doing what needs to be done and working with them till you get it right. So anyone out their who dreads nails or doing anything with your dog that may be unpleasant, don't give up, stay confident and let your dog know that you will do what needs to be done one way or another :D. I know this may sound like a big deal to some but when you already have a tough boy it sure makes us feel good to come to this point. One more thing, Judi W. is responsible for this bc she's the one who stresses doing them often, so Judi, I hope you read this and I hope you know how very much I appreciate you :D. O.K. I'm done, LOL!!
