Even though NONE of us (hopefully) would want a puppy to be given like this, I think demonstrating "fake" irresponsible ownership is wrong. I feel we should always strive in ANY situation to demonstrate responsible ownership. I think there's much better ways suggested in other posts to convey a truthful way to nix having the puppy given as a gift.
