I guess you'd have to tie a bow around the nubbie, too! :D
I use a flea comb and a container of soapy water to get those god-forsaken little blood suckers! If Luna has one flea on her, she lets me know and this year I've only found 2 fleas! That's without any deterrant but an occasional bath and a flea comb. Many years ago, I had a horrible flea problem and found an enzyme product that I sprinkled all over the yard and kept moist. Then it went to town gobbling up the flea larvae in the soil. I guess it worked! :)
When I was a kid, my dad used to make collars out of eucalyptus pods for our dogs as a flea deterrant. Judging by the number of flea bites I got, I don't think it did a darn thing.
