Most knowledgeable Rottweiler trainers reccommend the prong. Don't buy into that 'it looks painful" BS. It's a very humane collar that just looks bad. It should be really called a pinch collar as that is what it does. It's a great way to help control the dog but at the same time give you the abiltiy to make a quick fair correction. Head halters are ok but have lots of limitations. I've used them before but don't like them too much. They are the only thing they allow us to use at the shelter and yes they can & do work. I suggest a prong & some training though. There should be many discussions on here in the archives about why their merits or lack therof. The only thing I do advise is that you make sure a professional or someone who knows what they are doing shows you how to fit & use the collar.
