| Irie's Mama, as soon as I read the original post, I wrote to the mayor and to all of the council members listed. I've received two answers; one from Donald Hill, who wrote that the matter is being thoroughly investigated, and one from Veletta Lill, who wrote this:
"Indeed if the reports are true - then this a tragedy and disciplinary action
should be taken or criminal charges might be filed. At this time the city
is trying to determine all the facts of the case.
I wanted you to know that the investigation of the live animal the McCommas
Bluff Landfill has been turned over to the public integrity unit of the
Dallas Police Department. This will ensure that any evidence is protected
if a crime has been committed. We also anticipate that we will receive the
toxicology reports back this coming week. Both developments should help
shed light on the details of this tragedy so that the appropriate steps can
be taken."
Those among you who live in Texas, PLEASE keep your eyes on this situation! We need to make sure that they follow through on their promises to fix it. Keep writing! If they are made aware that they are under massive scrutiny and that their reelection depends upon their actions against Animal Control, they won't feel comfortable in allowing it to continue.
