| Michael funny you mention it because our dog has always been like that. Had me worried because I never had a do like that. When I get home and he is in his sleeping mode(which is most of the time) he either gets up slowly and lays by my feet and sometimes he doesn't even get up. If he isn't sleeping then he greets me with happiness.
I thought of many reasons but finally decided he is simply lazy. He does have a bad hip so I thought he maybe sore or something but I doubt it, we changed his activity level (up & down) no changes, blood work came ok so there are no other problems with him. In the morning I usually take him for a walk at 7am, at that time he would rather stay inide and not go, sneaks into his crate to catch extra 2 minutes of sleep, but on the weekend when we can sleep in a bit and I take him for a walk at 9am or so he is excited to go.
Go figure.
