No experience with the "doggy dooley" here, but I will share my approach. I line a 5 gallon bucket with a regular kitchen garbage bag. I walk around the yard scooping and filling the garbage bag as I go. The bucket keeps the bag from closing or flopping over.
When I'm done I pull those garbage bag ties shut and into the house garbage can it goes. No mess, no bother... till next week.
