| I would just always supervise the dogs when they play - step in if it looks like the either dog is being overwhelming. I have a pitmix and a rotti, they play rough. That's why I supervise and have them sit or down if it gets too rough. Then I let them go back to playing.
I don't think dogs should be left alone together without supervision, but pit bulls and pit-mixes and rotts too, can be dog aggressive and you don't want to take any chances. It sounds like you've got it under control - Enjoy your puppy!
